Tucked away in the Central Manufacturing District is a 36,000-square-foot warehouse with an unexpected inventory. Zap Props collects hundreds of thousands of items of all shapes, sizes and kinds and rents them out as props for movies, TV shows, plays and other occasions. They also curate the decor at several well-known restaurants. From street signs to computers, chairs to bottles and even taxidermied animals—the collection spans the past century with a special focus on items from the 1920s through the 1970s. Imposing aisles are jam-packed with nearly everything you can imagine—and some things you might not. The stock is loosely arranged by type and age.
