In 2019, having outgrown its previous offices in the West Loop, landscape architecture firm Omni Ecosystems purchased a 2.5-acre block in the Bronzeville community to house its new headquarters. The facility—which opened in summer 2020—incorporates a 1920s-era Bowman Dairy Company bottling factory which Omni updated to include an expansive ADA-accessible system of green roofs and outdoor event spaces. The formerly industrial complex now features open offices and meeting areas, an indoor plant library and conservatory, a material library and warehouse. The master plan for the 65,000-square-foot site includes converting an acre of open land into a publicly accessible nature preserve and planting over 150 new trees.
