MICKEY is a contemporary art gallery specializing in emerging contemporary artists with an emphasis on installation based work. The gallery was formerly a mechanic shop and light manufacturing facility that underwent extensive remodeling under the direction of Dirk Denison Architects. It features an enfilade straight through the gallery, and is fully supported by party walls on either side. The bones of the building were either kept or recreated, with the intention of the architect being to make a thoughtful intervention into the existing structure.
