DAAM Projects, 2019
Guild Row is a new type of social club that offers experiences around making things. Their 20,000 sq ft flagship campus, currently under construction in Avondale, is an initiative led by development company PLATFORM and designed by emerging Chicago-based architecture practice, DAAM Projects. The four buildings, constructed throughout the 20th century in an industrial enclave by the Chicago River, long served as home to a dental tool manufacturer. When complete and open to members, Guild Row will be a dynamic hub for hosting artisan-led classes and community craft experiences. The building’s adaptive reuse strategy pays homage to the site’s rich industrial past while offering opportunities for new types of hands-on engagement with and within the architecture.
Behind-the-scenes guided tours of the nearly-complete but not-yet-open campus will be offered every 15 minutes. Guild Row sample programming experiences and information regarding the facility and membership offerings will be available.
