Description

This eight-lane, second-story bowling alley and bar has roots going all the way back to the 1930s. Originally opened as Court Recreation with handset pins and wood lanes, it evolved into Northwest Bowl in the 1950s when automatic pinsetters were installed along with other equipment still used in the space today. Northwest Bowl closed in the early 1990s, and the space lay dormant until 2018 when construction began on Avondale Bowl.

Restoring as much of the bowling equipment and lanes as possible, Avondale Bowl offers bowling in its classic form (manual scoring & wood lanes) in a modern-meets-vintage setting. New skylights and large windows allow for natural light, a rare feature in bowling alleys, and a rebuilt bar incorporates the original mahogany rail.
