Constructed in 1939, this eight-story building has Art Moderne details reminiscent of those found in the nearby Granville Gardens and Wolcott Gardens apartments. This style is best reflected in the building's corner windows, multicolored stripes of brick and thin wall plane windows set close to the surface. The six staggered eight-story blocks are arranged in a way that offers views of Lake Michigan and maximizes ventilation for the 203 units, while creating a delightful private courtyard that houses a remarkable fountain.
Visitor Experience
Guided tours of the lobby, courtyard, and one apartment unit will be offered to visitors. Tours will depart whenever there are 5-10 people gathered in the lobby. There will also be informational placards in the lobby, along with a historical video.
