Details

Graceland Cemetery is one of Chicago’s finest hidden treasures, a serene and vibrant park-like cemetery on the bustling North Side. Graceland is the final resting place to many prominent Chicago figures, including athletes, politicians, industrialists and many of the finest architects of the last century. Designed by visionary landscape architects, including O.C. Simonds, Graceland offers a glimpse into the past while creating a beautiful place for all to enjoy. Even after 150 years, Graceland remains an active cemetery and arboretum.

Visitor Experience

Enjoy a lineup of activities all day at Beyond the Gates: Glimpses of Graceland! Visitors will be welcomed into Graceland beginning at 10 am when the vendor marker opens located in the main entrance parking lot and pedestrian plaza near the visitor center.

The main entrance will remain open for pedestrian or bicycle traffic only; vehicles will be required to enter at the Greenwood Gate entrance. Parking instructions will be provided at the Greenwood Gate.

At various points each day, guests can engage with various vendors, guest speakers, and docents as well as view the cemetery at their own pace or during one of the scheduled events. Please expect to pay for any art, food, or swag that you wish to purchase from the vendors onsite. All other events provided by Graceland are free to the public.
