Description

Opened to the public in 2018, the CAC's downtown riverfront location offers nearly 10,000 square feet of exhibition space, along with the Design Store. The Center's exhibits focus on Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods, housing types, leading architects, current design and development, and architectural innovation. This includes the largest scale model of the city, with more than 4,250 miniature 3D-printed buildings, interactive touchscreens, and a cinematic backdrop animating key moments in local history.

The Center is also your gateway to more than 50 CAC walking tours plus Chicago Architecture Foundation Center River Cruises aboard Chicago’s First Lady.

Visitor Experience

Enjoy free admission to the Center, including all exhibit spaces, during Open House Chicago.
