This 1970s-era Loop office building re-opened in 2016 after an exterior and interior renovation by Wright Heerema Architects. The 29-story building has a new curtainwall projecting out 18 inches from the façade, new steel signage, and a refurbished lobby with new lighting, porcelain flooring and a perforated metal “tree wall” harmonizing with the dark stained wood paneling. The renovation also focused on providing new amenities for office tenants in an increasingly competitive downtown marketplace. This includes a new fitness center, state-of-the-art conference facility, free fruit on demand, and, most significantly, a 28th floor lounge dubbed “The Notch”. This unique glass-walled room has comfortable seating, a bar and recreation area and large operable windows that draw in fresh air and create the feel of being outdoors.
