The nation’s largest minority tennis organization has a major new center to call home. Opened in 2018, the $16.9 million XS Tennis Village occupies a large swath of vacant land where the Robert Taylor Homes once stood. The state-of-the-art center includes 27 tennis courts—hard and clay—a track, fitness center, basketball gym, community spaces and classrooms. With this impressive new facility, XS Tennis plans to double the reach of its free tennis programs to serve 4,000 Chicago Public School students. It will also initiate scholarship-based instruction for Chicago residents.
