Description

While Tree House Humane Society has been helping cats find loving families for decades, in 2017 they moved into a new, specially designed home. This structure is home to eleven cat colonies, nine of which have access to outdoor enclosures. The whole building is designed to be eco-friendly, with energy-efficient floor heating and extensive skylighting. Tree House is also home to Chicago’s first in-shelter cat cafe, where patrons can visit adoptable cats with feline leukemia while enjoying a drink. In the Tree House parking lot, a working outdoor feral cat colony will be available for viewing. The on-site cat clinic is already functional, and a new community clinic opened in 2021 in service of both cats and dogs.

Visitor Experience

The 2nd floor adoption floor will be open for visitors to play and interact with the cats. The Cat Cafe is open for guests to get a beverage.
