Pumping Station: One is a 10,000 square foot community workshop whose membership is open to all, with a mission to foster a collaborative environment in which people can explore and create at the intersections of art, technology, and craft. A community of almost 600 people, PS:1 offers shared tools for woodworking, metalworking, jewelry-making, crafts, electronics, digital media, virtual reality, and more. PS:1 also offers access to industrial manufacturing tools like laser cutters, CNC mills, and 3D printers. While many corporate makerspaces are popping up around the city and country, PS:1 has become the largest markerspace in the Midwest thanks to a member-led, all-volunteer model.
