Metropolis Coffee Co. is an anchor tenant of "Rockwell on the River" , a new destination for food-oriented businesses in Avondale. The 18,000-square foot headquarters and roastery opened in September 2015 in a former tannery building, moving from an Andersonville garage. Metropolis encompasses 3 buildings from this 10-building, turn-of-the-century leather tannery, and boasts many of the original structural elements of the space, including original wooden beams on the warehouse's bow-truss ceiling. This site is not a cafe, and is not routinely open to the public.
