Of all the new apartment buildings in Chicago, L Logan Square is in a category of its own. Logan Square's first official Transit Oriented Development (TOD) has a decommissioned CTA "L" train car situated on its 2nd floor rooftop amenity deck, a reworked development designed by Brininstool + Lynch. The car has been turned into an outdoor cabana-like lounge space in the middle of a serene water feature. The futuristic development's exterior of silver paneling conceals a spartan interior featuring carefully-curated street art. As a TOD, the building features limited parking spaces and a well-equipped bike room to take advantage of proximity to public transit and Chicago's primary bicycle thoroughfare.
