Description

This impressive marble-clad 1890s mansion was a gift from meatpacking magnate Gustavus F. Swift to his daughter Helen for her wedding to Nelson Morris (the son of another Chicago meatpacking giant). After years as a funeral home and then as headquarters for the Chicago Urban League, this landmark is now home to the Inner City Youth & Adult Foundation - although it is currently on the market. The Foundation provides programs focused on education, employment, counseling and the successful reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals into the community.
