Description

After more than a decade of creating awe-inducing theatrical productions and educational programming throughout the city, Chicago Children's Theatre opened its first permanent location in this repurposed 1948 police station in 2017. Wheeler Kearns beautifully renovated the old cell block into a 149-seat blackbox theater and earned LEED Gold certification for the building. CCT’s The Station is a place for families and children of all backgrounds, interests, and abilities to explore theatrical and educational experiences, with an emphasis on student authorship, youth empowerment, and community leadership.
