Pappageorge Haymes, 2003

There are two notable things behind the giant yellow door on Racine Avenue: a big purple monster and the quirky offices of world-renowned toy invention firm Big Monster Toys. In 2003, BMT converted a former trucking warehouse into its current home. BMT's playfully-decorated environment boasts a 25-foot-tall stuffed giraffe, 3-D printers, a machine shop, a full-sized caboose and a recording studio. The firm designs, engineers and prototypes toys and games for clients including Mattel, Spin Master, Winning Moves, Moose, Fisher Price, Play Monster, Fat Brain, USAopoly, Goliath, Hasbro, and more. Big Monster has stocked toy store shelves with hundreds of must-have toys and games over its 30 year history. Chances are you played with more than a few!
