Description

Architectural firm Manske Dieckmann Thompson, PLLC is located within a small Uptown storefront. Designed by the Architect William H. Harlev Jr., construction on the building was completed in 1930. The original owner envisioned a retail structure that capitalized on the area's growing foot traffic and the retail boom leading up to the Great Depression.

The facade features custom, hand-painted polychrome terracotta with the addition of two Indigenous American faces. In 2018, the building's facade underwent a complete restoration, and the interior was transformed into an architectural office.

Visitor Experience

OHC visitors are welcome to enjoy a self-guided tour, beginning with the renovated facade and continuing through the working architecture office. Although the Winthrop Family Historical Garden is not part of the visitor experience, people are welcome to exit the back of the office which opens to the newly refreshed historic garden.
