Description
Wonder City Studio resides in the Bulldog Lock Co building, a beautiful example of post-war Streamline Moderne, with its curved brick and glass block façade. The building's current occupancy represents a good example of varied post-industrial uses. Wonder City Studio consists of husband-and-wife team Phil Thompson and Katie Lauffenburger. From their studio, they create artwork celebrating architecture and places deserving of preservation, with special love for Chicago. Phil works in pen and ink, Katie in ceramics. Katie will be working on her ceramic sculptures periodically throughout the opening hours, and Phil will be drawing.
Visitor Experience
Visitors to the Bulldog Lock Co building will first be greeted by Starshaped Press staff and OHC volunteers. Further down the hallway, visitors will find Wonder City Studio. Enjoy ongoing, live art-making demonstrations, with artwork on display and for sale. There will be giveaways as well.
